Christmas Time

January 9, 2008

The Creative Media Christmas party kicked of this year at the Castle Leslie Estate in Monaghan. It started with a Ready Steady Cook style competition under the watchful eye of Castle Leslie’s master chef Brian. After Shane decided to taste the lemon syrup, which turned out to be washing-up liquid, we got to work. 45 minutes of cooking flew by and at the end of it the girls were awarded best dessert. Nigel and Shane got best salad and best main meal, while Stephen and Paul got credit for taking part.

The drinking then began and the Creative Media crew headed into Monaghan town. With the 80s music pumping they walked like Egyptians and were as Footloose as Mr Bacon himself. To nobody’s surprise The Ferris-Wheel managed to disappear during the night and when he did reappear convincing him to get onto the bus was as easy as convincing Steve Jobs to buy a Zune. However, he didn’t let this fact hinder his interpretation of the night and the next morning he proudly gave himself credit for managing to get everyone a taxi home!

All in all a great time was had and suggestions for the 2008 Christmas party are already getting thrown around – the prospect of rally driving being the most intriguing!

A Tyrone-based company has struck gold for the second year at a prestigious All-Ireland design competition.

Creative Media, based in Dublin Road, Omagh, picked up a Gold and Silver at the Irish Design Effectiveness Awards ceremony in Dublin on Friday night.

The local company was presented with Gold in the Consumer Literature category and Silver in the Not For Profit section of the awards.

Last year, Creative Media scooped Gold in the Best Publication category of this major event for its work on Templeton Robinson’s Property Life magazine.

The awards ceremony is held annually and is open to the entire design industry in Ireland, focusing on the degree to which design projects impact on a business’s bottom line.

Creative Media designed literature for Omagh Enterprise Centre and Leitrim County Enterprise Board’s innovate programme picked up silver for the company at this year’s ceremony.

Creative Media’s work helped establish the cross border programme which was set up to provide local small to medium sized businesses with the opportunity to improve their profitability through use of new technology.

The company scooped the top prize in the “Consumer Literature” category for its work on designing a new brochure for Glazing Design Systems.

Creative Media Managing Director and founder, Marcus Isherwood, said he was delighted to be honoured for a second year in this prestigious competition.

Connect 4 – The Battle Continues!

January 9, 2008

Bill Shankly famously said ‘Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.’ Well the same could now be said of the Creative Media Connect 4 battles.

Stephen is surprisingly the current champion, but his hold on the title is a tenuous one. And a greater challenge lies ahead – wild rumours have emerged of a national Connect 4 Championship being held at a pub not too far from the Creative Media office. A mysterious grainy photograph has even appeared of the afore mentioned competition and can been seen below. Forget the Spartans, this promises to be the mother of all battles!

Mrs Shelley Moore

January 9, 2008

Congratulations to Creative Media designer Shelley Moore (aka Coyle) who got married on the 31st of August.

Above – The Creative Media team (minus one who was last seen curled up in the fetal position on the chaise lounge in the hotel lobby.)

A good day was had by all – Stephen who was warning everyone before the wedding that he didn’t want to see people fading managed to stay awake to nearly midnight! Nigel got to watch his wife be the true Dancing Queen, and Maria despite being the non-drinker ended up getting more drink than anyone else! Bets are now being taken on who will give us the next Creative Media Wedding.
